The Association of Film Commissioners International (AFCI), the official professional organization for film commissioners who assist film, television, and video production across the globe, today announced that it will partner with leading entertainment industry publication TheWrap.com to bring its premium conference TheGrill to the 2013 Locations Show.
Taking place at the Los Angeles Convention Center on June 28-29, 2013, the AFCI Locations Show brings together hundreds of production industry decision makers from the film, television, and commercial world under one roof to discuss trends in the always competitive world of global film production.
“Partnering with TheWrap for this year’s event will allow us to elevate our conference programming and add significant value to what is already known as the premier event for the global production industry,” said Kevin Clark, Executive Director of AFCI. “Through its conference series TheGrill, the team at TheWrap has a proven track record in attracting influential and innovative leaders in media, entertainment and technology to high level industry events like ours. We couldn’t be more excited to have them join us as a partner this year.”
“We are thrilled to bring TheGrill to the AFCI Locations Show,” said Sharon Waxman, CEO and Founder of The Wrap News, Inc. “The format of deep, one on one conversations with industry leaders and innovators combined with AFCI’s network of film commissions from around the globe will give us a great platform to discuss issues such as global film financing, technology, and other key business challenges in front of a highly engaged audience.”
Speakers at recent Grill conferences include industry leaders like Judd Apatow, Irving Azoff, Seth MacFarlane, and Ted Sarandos. TheGrill@ Locations Show conference series will occur on Friday, June 28th, day one of the Locations Show event. Announcements of this year’s participants will be coming over the next several weeks.
“With this partnership we are certain that TheGrill@Locations Show will become a must-attend event for decision makers from across the entertainment industry,” concluded AFCI’s Clark.
