Film LA Production Alert: Norwalk-La Mirada

The Norwalk – La Mirada Unified School District has partnered with FilmL.A. to provide film licensing for all District properties.

The District serves approximately 21,000 students in the communities of Norwalk and La Mirada and is comprised of 17 elementary schools, 6 middle schools, 4 high schools and other facilities available for filmmakers’ use. These properties in the southeast of Los Angeles County are conveniently located within the 30-Mile Zone.

District properties vary in architectural style and include athletic facilities, such as gyms, locker rooms, stadiums, tracks and sport-courts, as well as classrooms, shop rooms, kitchens, libraries, auditoriums and parking lots.

The District has a long history of accommodating film production, notably for the making of Grease 2 in 1982. Photos of available facilities can be found at

Filming Rates

– Standard Filming Rates —

Regular Filming: Basic Rate: $2,500 for 15 hours Overtime Rate: $55 / hour

Half-day Filming: Basic Rate: $1,250 for 6 hours

Still Photography: Basic Rate: $300 for 4 hours Overtime Rate: $55 / hour

Student Filming: Basic Rate: $260 for 4 hours Overtime Rate: $55 / hour

 Standard deposit of $500 / day applies, refundable less overtime, custodial and damages.  There will be a charge of $55 per hour as reimbursement for custodial salaries AS NEEDED.

Parking Use: Basic Rate: $1,500 / day Custodial Fee: $55 / hour

Base Camp Use: Basic Rate: $1,500 / day Custodial Fee: $55 / hour
