LAFD Issues Reminder Regarding Contact for School Filming

LAFD Issues Reminder Regarding Contact for School Filming

The Los Angeles City Fire Department (LAFD) has asked us to remind local filmmakers that they have a specific point of contact at LAFD to schedule and conduct filming walkthroughs at schools, churches and institutions within the Metro and Valley Divisions. No other LAFD division or personnel are available to assist with these requests.

FilmL.A. recommends you contact the Fire Department as early as possible in your planning process. The Fire Department’s minimum notification time for filming at any hospital, church or school facility is 48 hours (two full business days, weekends not included).

Inspector Roth of the Schools, Churches and Institutions Unit of the L.A. City Fire Department can be reached at 213.978.8675 on weekdays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. A 24-hour messaging service is also available; however, messages left via this service will not count toward the Fire Department’s 48-hour notification requirement.

Thank you for your attention to this important issue. For general questions about filming in area schools, please call FilmL.A. at 213.977.8600 and ask to speak with a production specialist.
