Location Managers Guild of America (LMGA) recently toured the City of Cerritos as part of the “Re‐launching the Zone” in an effort to highlight local filming locations and help keep jobs in the Los Angeles region. The program is intended to target cities within the 30‐mile studio zone to highlight their potential for filming opportunities. The City of Cerritos is the first city to participate in the “Re‐launching the Zone” program. LMGA scouted the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts (CCPA), Cerritos Olympic Swim & Fitness Center, Cerritos Library, the Civic Center, Heritage Park, the Cerritos Senior Center and Liberty Park. The City of Cerritos has been the filming location for a variety of television and film productions, music videos, commercials and more. Recently, the television shows “Chuck” and “Undercovers” were filmed at the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts (CCPA), and Cerritos’ parks have been the backdrop for a variety of television shows and music videos. The studio zone is used by union film projects to determine per diem rates and driving distances for crew members. The center of the studio zone is located at the southeast corner of Beverly and La Cienega in Los Angeles. More than 90 cities and parts of Los Angeles, Orange and Ventura counties fall within the 30‐mile studio zone.
