On location filming is up 4.7% for the 1st fiscal quarter of 2011 according to FilmLA. While some categories such as Features and TV took a small downturn (5.3%, 3.7% respectively), Commercials and miscellaneous on location shoots made up for it. Filming permitted production days rose by 517 bringing in a total of 11,604 PPDs for the 1st quarter of 2011.
When it came to TV shows, Sitcoms took top honors rising 77% over 2010 totals beating out Drama and Reality shows, which had a little dip from 2010 numbers.
