Production Alert – County Beaches

from: FilmLA.com –

With the rainy season upon us, the Los Angeles County Beaches and Harbors Department has asked FilmL.A. to issue a broad advisory to film companies that might plan to use L.A. County Beaches for water scenes.

FilmL.A. hereby advises that, should Los Angeles County health officials issue an official “Rain Advisory,” filming at L.A. County Beaches will be suspended for a minimum of 72 hours. No new permits for beach filming will be issued until three days after rain conditions abate, and any water use permissions in effect during the advisory will be suspended.

This decision is based on a recommendation from the L.A. County Department of Public Health, which advises beach users to avoid contact with ocean water, especially near flowing storm drains, creeks and rivers for a period of 3 days after rainfall ends, to avoid serious illness.

FilmL.A. will proactively contact film productions affected by Rain Advisories to update them on their permit status. FilmL.A. will also assist affected companies with simple filming date adjustments at no cost. Our Production Planning Team, as always, is available to assist you at 21.977.8600 if you have questions.
